Mike's Wine & Spirits

Mike’s Wine & Spirits is one of the longest tenured stores in the Bottlecapps’ family. When Mike’s originally chose to partner with Bottlecapps, the goal of the app was to help “keep their store’s own brand at the forefront of their delivery service,” not the brand of a 3rd party delivery company. Some of the major players in the alcohol delivery landscape not only take a large portion of profits, but actively steer customers away from your store to other stores! That can certainly cast a rainy (or at least drizly) cloud over any small business owner.

With this stated goal in mind, Mike’s was able to dial it in and convert a huge portion of these customers over to the branded app that Bottlecapps developed for their business. In doing so, Mike’s was able to gain over $1M in additional revenue when the pandemic swept the nation, and all this while keeping both their profits AND their customers.  

Over the years, like so many of our stores’ owners, we have become close to store-owner Andy. On a recent road-trip to Kansas City, and after many years of only communicating via emails, phone calls, and video chats, we were finally able to meet Andy in person. 

Mike’s KC, as we call them, has been at the forefront of some of our best innovations. The feedback we’ve gotten has led to real, tangible improvements not just for Mike’s Wine & Spirits, but for all of our clients. That’s why it was so great to get out of our tech-bubble and physically shake Andy’s hand (and some other wonderful folks) while saying thank you for being such a loyal and fearless partner to the Bottlecapps platform.

These road trips are always among the highlights of the year for the Bottlecapps’ team because to us, this IS personal, not just business! We firmly believe that relationships matter and that our stores are not merely numbers, but real people trying to make a living - real people trying to feed their families. It’s the owners, not Bottlecapps, that are on the ground level running a beer, wine, or liquor store every single day, and we’d be wise to continue to listen to the needs of store owners like Andy.
